About the Workshop

WRC-23 that was held in Dubai in November 2023, addressed a number of key spectrum issues and many countries including have already started implementing the decisions that were taken there, and importantly, starting to plan for the next cycle towards WRC-27, with first preparatory meeting for WRC-27 in China last year. The 2 nd APT preparatory meeting for WRC-27 is likely to be held in July this year and is expected to start preparing the preliminary views on all the agenda items.

The ITU-APT Foundation of India (IAFI) is therefore pleased to announce an upcoming workshop, "Second Preparatory Meeting for WRC-27", scheduled to take place on April 7th, 2025, in New Delhi. This pivotal event aims to foster meaningful discussions on key agenda items for the World Radiocommunication Conference 2027 (WRC-27) and will provide insights into the outcomes of the recently concluded 34th Meeting of the APT Wireless Group (AWG-34).

  •   EPFD Limits - Radio Regulations Article 22
  •   Satellite Direct to Device - WRC-27: Agenda 1.13
  •   FSS Antenna Diameter - WRC-27: Agenda 1.2
  • The meeting will address the following key questions:

    • What should be the key regional objectives for India for WRC-27
    • What were the key outcomes of APG27-1 and how India can contribute to APG-27-2 meeting
    • What are the key potential bands for 6G and how we can contribute to the studies towards WRC-27 agenda 1.7
    • What will be the key priority areas of discussion at the APG27-2 and other regional preparatory meetings in other Regions?
    • How can various stakeholders come together to ensure that national WRC-27 objectives are achieved? How can the experiences and lessons learned at WRC-23 help to shape the strategic planning and negotiations leading up to WRC-27?
    • What role can regional harmonisation of spectrum policies play in achieving a more efficient and unified approach to spectrum management?
